On October 9, 2023, the CCPS School Board received and accepted the resignation of longtime board member, Mr. George Spaulding, Jr. Mr. Spaulding has served on the School Board since 2000. His current four-year term was set to expire in December 2023 and while planning to run for the Bowling Green seat in the November 2023 election, the letter read aloud by Board Chair Shawn Kelley on behalf of Spaulding acknowledged recent health concerns and the desire for the Bowling Green community to have more immediate representation.
