Dr. Melissa White Announced as Lotus Academy Leader

Caroline County Public Schools is pleased to announce that Dr. Melissa White has been named the new Lotus Academy Administrator. Dr. White’s career with CCPS spans over twenty-four years, including service as a paraprofessional, elementary teacher, and most recently as CCPS Transition Coordinator for the Exceptional Education Department. She holds an Associate Degree in Business Leadership and Management from Germanna Community College, a Master’s in Education with an endorsement in Administrative Leadership and Supervision from the University of Mary Washington, and a Doctorate of Education from National University in San Diego, California. Dr. White is a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid national trainer, a Teen Mental Health First Aid trainer, a national Mandt trainer, as well as an Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) trainer. Dr. White also serves on the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board of Directors.

Dr. White is passionate about each student’s success and development. She shared, “I am thrilled to join the Lotus Academy family and look forward to learning and growing together. As the newly appointed Administrator, I aim to help cultivate greatness by ensuring students are successful on their educational journey and prepared to be Three E Ready—Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed.” Dr. White will begin her transition from CCPS Transition Coordinator to Lotus Academy leader on Monday, August 26th.
