After receiving input from multiple stakeholder groups and an online survey, the school division’s calendar committee made final revisions to the initially proposed calendars for school board adoption. There will be NO Change in school start times for the 2025-2026 school year. While the research strongly suggests secondary students start school after 8:30 am, the CCPS Board noted elementary student safety in the AM and after school childcare as two critical factors to maintain the current CCPS school start times. The adopted calendars accomplish a variety of ends, including a pre-Labor-Day start, balanced job-embedded professional learning opportunities, teacher planning days at the end of each quarter, and three make-up days. The CCPS school board and calendar committee are pleased to have an academic calendar that supports high-quality teaching and learning that meets all state mandates and required instructional hours for verified credit.
