September Is Suicide Prevention Month

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. National Suicide Prevention Week is September 8 – 14, 2024, with World Suicide Prevention Day on the 10th. During this day and week, individuals and organizations alike will be drawing attention to the problem of suicide and advocating the prevention of this tragedy. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for young people ages 10 – 24. It is also one of the leading causes of preventable death. Suicide prevention and mental health awareness are things everyone should be able to talk about without fear of judgment or stigma. By wearing yellow today, you are helping to bring attention to this problem and supporting the belief that Everyone Matters!

We are asking all CHS Staff and Students to WEAR YELLOW on September 10th for Suicide Prevention Awareness.
