CHS Coding Club attended the University of Mary Washington Innovation Challenge at Dahlgren on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1. Teams from all over the region competed in the Innovation Challenge requiring students to write code, build a robot, navigate a maze, and perform challenges as a model of real world defense technology. Senior Melanie Squires, Junior Olivia Monahan, and Sophomore Karianah Carroll represented CHS as the first coding team from CCPS and the only all female team at the event. Led by Innovation Specialist, Hagan Driskell the team began learning code in November. Judges’ comments included high marks for the most creative code and compliments on teamwork and persistence. Congratulations team for a job well done! #CodeChallenge
